I have just finished my "Bad Hammer 1.1" and put up the template for download at slingshotforums.com.

It combines a typical Jörg Sprave Hammerhead type fork with my signature glued on palmswell, all to be made from an 18mm Multiplex board. Not a beauty queen, (and I never intended it to be one), but a rugged, compact and comfortable hammergrip frame (those are not that common) that is easy and cheap to make.

Here is a link to the download page:

http://slingshotforum.com/files/file/80-bad-hammer/

No, not really. Maybe with triple TTB gold or something, but it feels really comfortable as it is. If one absolutely needs a thicker handle one could just modify the template a bit (widen handle by 3mm on either side) and use 24mm Multiplex.

I mean like a sideways palmswell, but that is just me right

Actually I find it works better that way. The flat sides make it really easy to avoid canting the slingshot and keeping it pointed at the target by feel.

Are you talking about your latest one, the Hammerhead? I made exactly the same mistake with my first slingshot (the one on the left):

http://slingshotforum.com/topic/19688-two-small-hammergrip-slingshots/

But I was able to modify it by cutting the handle into a narrow shape, glued on one of my palmswells and added a piece at the bottom. Now it looks totally different and shoots quite well:

http://slingshotforum.com/topic/20659-moppers-bad-company-13ish/#entry247939

You can try and download one of my palmswells and perhaps make your own "chin" for the frame. MAybe you can still turn your design into a good shooter.

And if that doesn't work because you have already rounded the handle too much I would try sawing it into a relatively narrow shape (thicker at he top, like a dagger that is stabbing downwards) and "wrapping" some FIMO around it. YOu will have a handle that is perfectly shaped to your hand after you have baked it in an oven. Two packs of FIMO are easily enough, especially with all the wood still inside.
