My pencil shooting pump gun is still one of my all times favorite slingshots.

Now I am thinking to make one with a more continous shooting motion... still a repeater, but with a crank handle, gatling action style.

The idea is that you put the butt against your chest and turn the crank with both hands. a half crank fires a pencil. A 12 round mag, six turns will empty it!

    What do you guys think?

    Best, Jörg

I like it :) the Japanese had a repeating crossbow but that's not like this.

    Dear Jörg,
I must seriously ask you to stop planting applications in your forums which reads your fellow forum members' minds! I had been thinking about a rotational crank design with BB pellets (maybe using a bicycle's actuation mechanism for crazy speed :D) but of course it would stop by that. I have nearly not enough time, energy, creativity, courage to do this kind of thing:D

I'd love to see that design, please make it!

This is a great idea! I have always really liked the idea of a cheap and readily available source of ammo, such as a pencil. Add in the fact that the original weapon was very effective and this Mk II version should be awesome! Looking forward to seeing this!

Increase the magazine size. Sounds like an awesome idea.

Instead of cranking how about using rubber power to twist the apparatus? Could be semi or full auto. I've seen some wonderful rubber band guns using that principal.

Twisted rubber bands don't really work for this kind of application - they have to little torque energy. Even on a propellor based toy plane, it needs quite long to speed up.

Finished the weapon today (minus the finishing job) - it works great! 16 pencil magazine, a good compromise. It is empty in no time. This can also take a lot more rubber if need be.

Bigger bands , stronger ammo, bigger mags and a high torque drill instead off a hand crank ?

I am thinking a strong battery drill and maybe a slight transmission.

In my mind that thing is screaming for a 12v windshield wiper motor out of a car or truck. Those are fairly compact, having a little spinning arm on them, and GOBS of torque.

    It works!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

I need to attach rubber bands to the new "magazine pusher", right now I just put my hand on top. The pencils are lightweight and need too much time to fall into the chamber. I have to find the right amount of rubber of course!

Would shoulder hanger brackets or harness make it more stable thus more accurate as it is cranked?
