You can try THIS one but it is a German site. I guess, someone speaking German will help you. I, once, made a order for 10 mm steel balls and when it came in my mail i was happy. When i saw the package, something was not right... I ordered 1 mm steel balls instead of 10 mm. I didn' t realise how cheap it was. Dumb A**!!!

Now i have to make a tiny slingshot

Car mechanics, often fix bearings (a part of the car), the car bearings contain steel balls, they usually dump them in to the bin when fixing the bearings, I go every saturday to the mechanic to get some; he gives them for free, he doesnt need them and is a good size, nice to shoot with it and unlimited for free!

Trumark sells steel ammo on their site for decent prices. They have a min. order of 4lbs. If you ordered 4lbs of 5/16" (8mm) steel balls, it'd run around $25 or so shipped, but you'd end up with over 800 balls. 3/8" (9.5mm) are more, but they're not needed if you just want to target shoot or plink. For hunting you of course need something larger and heavier, anything from 7/16" steel up to .45 cal lead, depending upon the critter you're after. Balls in this price range get expensive pretty fast. The cheapest way by far to get lead balls is to cast your own. There's an initial investment for the equipment, of course, but it will pay for itself very quickly and lead can be found at garages in the form of wheel weights, which you can usually buy very cheaply or even get free. I can provide some links to casting equipment later if you're interested.

I usually buy marbles and steel on ebay. I get my lead shot from Midway for around $15 for a box of 100 .45cal. balls.
www.midwayusa.com
Try ebay, search "slingshot ammo" but look for the hong kong/china sellers, they are cheaper...
i get 100 of 10mm steel
ball for $10.00, thats with postage included.
So they are1cent each, not bad.

I find for sizes like 8,9,10mm the Chinese suppliers on Ebay are the cheapest. I just got 300 10mm steel for $17usd including shipping. The limitation is shipping to Europe and North America can be 3-4 weeks, and I have yet to find one of these cheap dealers that sells anything bigger than 10mm. So far I am happy 9mm and 10mm are the 2 sizes I use the most, and I just order long before I run out.

Here's a link to my favorite place to get lead balls and other equipment: http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Category.aspx/1158#1191. There are other places to get this stuff, but these guys have always been very reliable for me and have great service. For basic casting you'll need a melting pot, a ladle, and a mold in whatever size you want. The basic melting pot is like $35, a basic ladle is around $5, and molds vary quite a bit in price, but expect to spend around $30-50. A lot of cash for a young guy, I know, but like I said, it'll pay for itself in no time if you decide to shoot a lot of lead, whether for hunting, targets, or both. There are cheaper ways to do it, like just melting the lead in a small cast iron pot over a fire, but that's a hassle, and you might as well invest in some decent equipment and get it right the first time. Hope this helps.

Just checked my metal supplier I get my hollow steel balls from. 1/2" (12.7mm) are 16 cents each. OUCH! These are precision, high carbon though. Get I'll need to search more.
