Well I am back at my flat, holiday is nearly over, so no cellar with the basic tools for me anymore.

    Back to recycling ;)

This time a door wedge from an unknown wood, shaped with the file of a multitool, sanded to 220 grit and finished with olive oil (which really brought out the grain).

It will be outfitted with 2040 singe tubes, if said tubes finally arrive...hence the Anxious PFS.

    Hope you like it.

Nice shooter, oh and it looks like it could be mahogany.

FYI- BeaverIII is right- that wood is Mahogany, specifically Philippine Mahogany.

Well that would be an really extraordinary wedge to keep a door open, wouldn`t it? [IMG]

It sure looks like it though.

Perhaps, but Philippine Mahogany is pretty common. It grows fast and is farmed/exported in droves. Madagascar Mahogany is more rare, and it has a denser grain that is pretty easy to spot amongst the standard Mahogany types.

That's kewl. I've been a professional woodsmith for decades- specializing in exotic hardwoods; so I can usually spot them pretty well.

The tubes finally arrived. All banded up with 2040 and an additional band groove to avoid slippage.

Glad to hear it's banded and ready to shoot. Looking forward to the report.
