Built this for a friend. My son had a great time playing with it.

I once made a bungie catapult out of manzanita and 2x4s complete with wheels like a medieval war machine for an extra credit project in grade 7. slung a tennis ball 40 yards or so.

Man I like all your Videos, looks like you have a lot of fun with your built stuff.
    Keep the good energy.
Building things for your little ones is cool. Better than sitting home all day and watching only garbage on TV. Very likeable...:)

Power for that machine is rubber (would have originally been torsion powered?) along with design makes it a Catapult. (IMO)

I don't think you can call it a trebuchet if it is anything but gravity powered. (uses a big counter weight on a long hinged arm to throw cows, piano's, etc)

Used with a modicum of supervision its a wonderful machine. Would certainly be fun to play with.

Yep I have to agree. I've learned a bit more history since then and if it's gravity powered it's probably a trebuchet. That toy could easily tear a nose off so it's not exactly kid safe. But it sure is fun.

Sometimes they call them slingshots "catapults"

    Hi everyone,

..posted that before on "slinging out a candle.."

    It´s simple, unperfect, and somehow..?
    let´s say maybe..

    "engaging" or "robust"?

    .. I like that

    ( There´s a piano "played" in that candle-thread ;) )

    Greetings, Be

There is a very, very fine line dividing genius and madness
