Hi guys, I was chating with a guy in my country (hurray, there is at least one) and we discussed ammo. He suggested that I could make a relatively cheap ammo from bedding for cats. You know - the material that you put into some basin/tray (? I don't have a cat) and the cat goes to make his poo.

The bedding has to contain some betonite, clay, .. or whatever similar. Not wood or silikagel. So if anyone from you has cats, try that I got some bedding and made some balls. They are quite light, but good for plinking and also it's cheap. You have to invest mainly your time..

I go to my local car mechanic, and ask him for steal ball bearings, they have a good size, and hard, plus they are totally free! He considers them rubish, I consider them excellent ammunition, usually one mechanic can give aproximately from 15 to 50 steal balls every two weeks, but if you ask to many of them and they agree to give you there "rubish" you can get hundreds for free!

If you have a mold for casting lead balls, some tire shops may give away old weights used for balancing tires. I used to be involved with a historical re-enactment group and some times they would get lead from tire shops like this. They had to be careful because it wasn't always pure lead, which could lead to problems if you actually used them for shooting in muskets, but for just demonstration purposes on making them they were fine... and wouldn't be a concern for using to shoot with a slingshot.
