Hi guys,<br>I tried to make a natural slingshot a couple of times without success.<br>I had a fork eated by the worm, it comes from Morocco and it is from an Almond tree. You can see in the pics below holes and groove made by the worms.<br><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-X1h6N0kyHCk/ULDCWsogvgI/AAAAAAAAAdg/FbDl79TRcVo/s512/24112012310.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/--cQoeP4VKCY/ULDCWkRlpcI/AAAAAAAAAdc/OkOi0cbvuv8/s512/24112012312.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br>It is finished with linseed oil only.<br><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7DWxfIlG-Zw/USNhRKpce-I/AAAAAAAAA2c/ZYLby1MU6K0/s512/2013-02-19%252011.03.11.jpg" border="0" alt=""><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-xfFFrsBIWoY/USNhRCPsF6I/AAAAAAAAA2g/w386b2zBvWI/s512/2013-02-19%252011.03.46.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-igjtlDN2STI/USNhRKggEJI/AAAAAAAAA2Y/x5-e3tQMlq8/s512/2013-02-19%252011.04.13.jpg" border="0" alt=""><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-f50b_HXMX_k/USNhSxo3TsI/AAAAAAAAA3A/6djSCoAs6zc/s512/2013-02-19%252011.04.31.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-GVNAJaUQm-o/USNhRvi42AI/AAAAAAAAA2w/S_iOwe65qqA/s512/2013-02-19%252011.06.06.jpg" border="0" alt=""><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LrTplbJvC-Y/USNhR2wqViI/AAAAAAAAA20/wELAhaNVfVs/s512/2013-02-19%252011.06.31.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-tAV3HKBk-Fs/USNhTEZda3I/AAAAAAAAA3I/_F6TxgE2pvo/s512/2013-02-19%252011.07.07.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br>At the begining i had the feeling that wood was weak but now that the slingshot is finished i know it is pretty strong wood. It weighs 210 grams.

Woahhh...a beautiful piece of art. If no one knows,<br>you could put it as a sculpture in your apartment.<br>As I said to onnod a few days ago,<br>nature is often more beautiful than anything<br>artificial and wood worms are also part of nature <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laughing" longdesc="7">.<br>Which gives the wood/slingshot it´s nice character.<br><br><br>Very nice and clean work, like the dark oiled surface very much.<br><br>Where to hell you guys always get this exotic tree forks <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_scratch.png" alt="scratch" longdesc="33"> I have a whole bag full of beech wood and maybe one oak fork.<br><br><br>I would appreciate if someone would share with me?

Honestly, when I saw the first picture, I thought that the fork doesn't deserve the effort. But you turned it into a really beautiful piece. Good work!

@ LW: I got familly in morocco. Sometimes they bring me a piece of wood but most of the time it is too small or instead of a fork, it is a strait stick... useless <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="Rolling Eyes" longdesc="14"> .<br><br>@ Stej: I was thinking like you at the begining <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laughing" longdesc="7"> .<br><br>Thank you for the nice comments.

I didn't know it would turn so dark after oil. I like dark wood:)<br>I have no interesting trees growing here :/ Yew maybe, but it's completely illegal to cut it here and only places you can find them is parks...

I am at my mom' s house for the moment and i could not resist trying this slingshot. So i took the bands off of my brother' s Fang and put them on this one.<br>Ho man, I really love it!!<br><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-05ssg5H7vpc/USOieX1jKAI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/jrS0Dt-Pl2g/s512/2013-02-19%252017.00.19.jpg" border="0" alt=""><br>It fit really nice in my hand and every shot are more powerful than all my other slingshots. Is it possible a slingshot got more power because of the shape of it?

Wow, realy nice.<br>But next time, you have to speak to the worms. They can make the fine sanding with there teeth. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/drunken_smilie.png" alt="drunken" longdesc="30">

When I saw the first photo, I thought you were doing crop circles. You know, sending out mysterious coded messages.<br><br>This turned out super. Great job shaping the wood!<br><br>If you need 'sticks', you can borrow my weims. They're talented multi-taskers. Smarter than family members. <img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_wink.gif" alt="Wink" longdesc="15"> At least I think so.
