Great collection Schultz! I thought the ax your grandfather gave you was a great present and you turned it into a deadly weapon, so its even better! I also like the smaller version of the 'Thing'. I was wondering if you were going to make another so they would be a fearsome matched set!
Great job on all of these, and on the video

The folding spade is a great idea!! Those were not only practical tools, but very dangerous weapons in close-quarter combat!
    Hmmm...Zombieduck SlingSpade :D

Today I want to Start with my Machete.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lckRkTPEpPE[/ame]
I have made the Handle from Plywood and I took the "Hammershot Takedown" from Bill Hays as a Model.
The Blade is a 5 € Machete from the Westfalia Catalog and it is made from differentially hardened Spring-steel and very Sharp.
I have cut off the Top a little, worked a Sawcut in, polished the Blade and engraved a Shark Head into the Top.
At least I have wrap the Handle with Camo-tape.

Length of the Machete: 600 mm
Dimension of the Blade: 470 mm long, 40 mm wide and 2 mm thick.

    I hope you like it.

Great stuff! Spring steel is an excellent material for that purpose! That does look extremely sharp too, the video shows that very well!
I also thought the shark head etching was great, especially because I do a lot of shark fishing and I am sure your new blade gives their teeth some tough competition! :D
    Great work, my friend!

  13. Great work!

    Nice blade!

I have make the Basic in 1 Hour from an a old self made Dumbbell (My Dad make it for me as Child) and i have attached a folding Spade. Inside the Spade is a Threaded rod. On this I can mount a Fork.
So I try to cut up and smashed some apples and also smashed a can and It works very well.

I hope you like this and Updates coming soon.

    Thx :D
I engraved it with the Dremel and a engraving pen, and grinding stones I hardly use.
I have 3 different fine sharpening stones for Knives, etc. and I think one is also suitable for Water.
But I give them only the last sharpness with this.
I sharpen the rough hone with an roughing disc, foremen them with Polishing Flap Discs and then I polish it with a cloth and Wenol. (Wenol with surface protection, all metal polish)
