I´m enjoying this forum for rd 10 weeks,
of which i suffer from a "tennis elbow"
    for six week now!

Therefore it´s been a pleasure to me to finally be working on a new slingshot:

The Priest! Actually my wife´s uncle is a protestant priest, and when
he saw my first three slingshots rd 5 weeks ago, he said that he would
really like to have one of those! :) - that "boy" is going to celebrate his
    70th! birthday soon..

So I had a good reason to go to the shop :)...

So here´s a little "making of", hope you like what you see!

    greetings,

    Be

    The palmswells

I wanted the palmswells to be made using stripes of the laminated wood,
therefore I cut out material which I knew would not be needed for the shape..

A lot of thought went into the rather racey look of this little beauty. Well done, Be!

    What a relief!

Although that bad elbow speaks to me again, I buffed it
up a little, rubbered it up (thanks to thorsten and Kiitos!-
I tried the blue "Penny-Market" rubber; 22cm active length,
20mm to 15mm tapered for 7mm steel or small marbles.
Then I cut the first pouch out of that red kangaroo leather,
made two shots and now I´m pretty sure he will like
    it! :) ) - slingborn again :)

    kind regards to everyone,

    Be

looking good, ive made a few really nice cattys from multiplex, the plates can look quite fascinating when theyve been polished and oiled right, like this one here :)

That looks really nice Be! I like how you changed things up with the multiplex on the palmswell. And that Le Tonkinois turned out really nice too - not too dark. I did a test piece recently with the Le T you sent me on some of the bamboo cutting board I've been pulling slingshots from. It's definitely darker than the other finished I have on hand, but on the test piece, it looks really nice. I'm sure your wife's uncle will be very pleased. Perhaps he could use this fine shooter to 'lobbeth thy holy hand grenade'.

    Thanks for all the flowers!

It´s actually made of beech plywood,
rather cheap, 60/120cm, supposed to be
    4mm thick (5mm it was..was 6,00€ cheap..),
    then laminatet with some nut-veneer..

I like all that positive feedback :)
.. being a cat i would be purring..

    Thanks!

Really nice work, the step by step photos were great. Really shows how much hard work went into the slingshot :)

I can only agree with dolo´s opinion, your work in multiplex is really excellent. Based on the different layers, I can see that your shaping is very exact. The vertical stripes are a nice touch to the slingshot.

As I have already mentioned, we will see a lot of very nice slingshot from you.
If you are healthy again and once have more time, what would you present to us...

So now I know what to do with the left over multiplex from my next X-bow. I love the patterns the differant layers made. That is a good looking shooter looks .
