I would not have been able to create this little shooter without this forum.

Cool beans! How does it shoot? Are those bands holding ok? The grooves in the forks don't seem very deep at all. I'm working on my first as well, but the forks are super big! I might have to trim them down. I didn't really have the nerve to make a low fork right out the gate until I got my technique down

I am a big fan of found-wood slingshots, so I approve!

    Hi Splugen!

>How does it shoot? Are those bands holding ok?
so far, it's been fine. granted I've just been slinging round rocks I find in my yard. I can pretty much send them where I want.. so I think it is good enough.

>he grooves in the forks don't seem very deep at all
Oh yeah. I forgot that I added side grooves on the fork after I took the above photos.

since then, there's enough to catch the wrapping bands.

>I didn't really have the nerve to make a low fork
now that I'm looking back, I really didn't think. That is, about the low fork design. I just thought that PFS looked cool and since it seemed to work for many people, I figured I'd try it as well.

Well, the fact that you aren't writing about how you've destroyed your hand is a vote of confidence as far as I'm concerned

Looks great! Nice and compact, and very pocket-able. What type of finish did you use?

    Hi CaptainBacon!
>very pocket-able
Not as thin as original PFS, but still small enough to fit in the back pocket.

>What type of finish
rub on beeswax and polish with brown paper bag. This is something my friend likes to do with his woodwork. not as clear as poly-U but feels warmer. I liked it so I copied his method.

Hi tokSick!
Thanks, I'm having a lot fun with this little shooter.

Glad to hear you used a wax finish. I prefer that type on my wooden frames, since it does feel warmer.

    hi Ryan Wigglesworth

>This looks a lot like the one I am playing with currently off and on... mine is also Maple
I've been playing around, and found that it works surprisingly well with arrows! I hope to see yours when it is done.
