This entry was created out of a desire to try my hand at homemade micarta. I ended up with red, white and blue paper available, so it made sense to go with a patriotic/USA theme. I'd been wanting to try Joerg's Six Circles design for a while, so I cut the blank from a piece of multiplex I had on hand. I added the micarta scales to each side of the handle. After doing some work on the fork, I had accidentally damaged the multiplex on the fork, so I epoxyed some scrap cedar to the fork and shaped it to fit the slingshot. To cap it off, I inserted the end of a .357 magnum cartridge in the fork as a kind of "maker's mark" and as a salute to a great American handgun caliber.
In the end, I was very pleased with the fork. It is now residing with another member of the forum.
