Awsome idea! I would suggest trying to leave the trigger parts in the reciever and releasing the shot via the actual hammer of the gun. Might be difficult but you could switch back to rifle mode much faster..

sounds promising.

doesn't look so bad now that it's black.

what could you have done better just for the (not so important) looks? maybe more a octagonal shape for the front part? (would be more difficult to change bands)

I thought about that, but the hammer was welded against the sear in order to deactivate the weapon. It would be easy to fix that with a Dremel, but I don't want to risk anything. Maybe I just buy new parts, they aren't regulated (just spare parts).

Also you'd have to cock back the hammer of course.

Now painted in black, it did not look that bulky to me...

It reminds me of the barrel and the tip of some sniper rifles, like the

M99

or the M107
m107.jpg
or Steyr 50 HS

May be some holes in the side of the box, will make it look more technical…
(of course does not work so good with a Heating System)

Did you shoot it over the Chrony? I would be very interested to know what speed you can get with strong bands.

Nice work, I like it very much!

Is that all they did to render it 'deactivated'?? I'm amazed! You can buy a new 'trigger group' parts kit anywhere for next to nothing! I think I have three here at my house even, and that's in the US!

They also drilled eight holes into the barrel, welded hardened steel rods into two of those holes, and grinded away the bolt face at 45 degrees.

In other words, the barrel is now junk and the bolt is almost beyond repair. But I have no intention to change that.

I can buy trigger groups without any problems here, too.

BTW, here is the video.

Any idea what type of speed your getting from that? Very cool idea and nicely done!

I think the idea is compelling! And since the lower receiver is an unregulated gun part here in Germany, it is not illegal to buy one and modify the heck out of it. I could even buy a deactivated "deko" M16 with a fully functional full auto lower receiver.

Now the idea would be to come up with a very slick looking rubber crossbow concept, with scope of course.

What do you guys think?
Yes Joerg, please build it. You are the right one to rock it. Very compelling idea. Wish all success.
Thx & rgds

That look assume but I wounder how I would work with the "Minimalistic Crossbow" you made. I think it would look great on the M16 lower. For that mater you could try the Hex Nut shooter. Then you would have pleny of ammo at the ready. Thanks for all of the ideas and hours of assume vido.
