Default Need Trigger Catch That Can Handle a Heavy Load

So I've got an interesting project going that involves shooting a nerf dart using extension springs and a tire pump. Not exactly the type of thing you see on here.. But what you do see here are projects very similar in function.

What I need is a trigger catch that can handle a very heavy load. The more suggestions and references the better, because by the end of this I have no idea what it'll look like.

Thanks!

But of course, a nail and clothes pin wont be able to handle pressure of 40lb or more. So I'm scouring the internet for references and trigger catch designs that will work for my project.

Maybe you find some inspiration here:

I think the strongest one I've seen so far is the one Jörg used in the trench catapult:

Good luck with your build!

Strongest lock would probably be from the rubber powered hydraulic press

I'm not really looking for the strongest lock... I'm looking for a simple lock that can withstand a lot of stress. Kinda like a real crossbow that has a 100+ lb pull.

Here are two very simple but strong locks. Of course you can also employ my one-piece trigger/lock design, which I have presented many many times. That one can hold hundreds of kilos.
