Default I've been experimenting :)

Hey again! I've been wanting to try this out for a while now and recently, I did. I was wondering what osb sheeting would look like when shaped and finished for slingshot scales. I threw this Rambone together one evening with some scraps I had. Birch ply core and the osb for scales. Then, I put some blo on her. 30 coats of CA and some sanding/polishing later and here she is. What you folks think of it? I personally think it's a pretty cool result. Wasn't exactly the easiest material to work with, but not too bad. Thanks for looking!

With THAT kind of coating, you can sell ANYTHING to me

Seriously, very pretty. Who would have thought. What happens when you put some teak oil onto the osb before the coating? Might give an interesting look.

Thank you sir! I really liking the look a CA finish adds lately. Ive never tried teak oil. Will have to give it a go.

I think it looks pretty good. I have like a personal problem with that material though. In my music class in elementary school, we stood in boxes made of osb so we could reach the marimbas (giant wooden xylophone). So for like 4 years I went through that, and that material reminds me of like monotony and loud irritating noises. That room was always super hot and dry too. Hated it, ha. To everyone else though, I'm sure it looks sick.

Wow, who'd have thought this could look so good? If I didn't know it was OSB, I'd have said this is a homemade resin laminate using some kind of improbable plant material. Great work!
