Hello and welcome. You are off to a good start with a working sling. From here on will be an accumulation of tools and materials. First shooters are much larger than what you will producing just months from now. Sanding, carving, laminating and finishing are in the path in front of you. Enjoy! Looking forward to what you come up with.

Thanks I think my forks are slightly uneven on the top, what angle is best for the top of my forks?(if there is a best angle). Going to have another go today with some dead wood that looks really cool.

Matching tips aren't so important, post-11459-0-71933600-1462648032.jpg as you can see. I usually cut flat to the stem of the forks. which makes it look like it is at an angle to the cup. This makes tying the bands easier. If you go straight across the cup like you have, the ties are more problematic and the bands do not stretch evenly across their width. IMHO. Tinker 'till you find what suits you is the best plan.

Just testing more out liking the pinch grip but haven't tried a hammer grip yet just love working with natural forks.
