HI, i red recently Joerg post's. He wrote that new tubular of Thera-Bands are tinner and stronger than before. However, i'ld like to know if them are still weaker than the flatbands (with same color) or the equal. In flatbands, the best are gold one, in tubular i think only silver (coz there are no upper one). Con some one confirm me that? PS: someone know a chepar way to build this bands/tubes? (on ebay them cost 5€ x 0,5m!)
First, tubes are stronker, but Bands are faster. And Tb Gold is good because u can cut it to stripes. for slingshots i would recommend Bands, if u want to use tubes, tt red. Silver is much to strong for a handheld slingshot. The only advantage of tubes is the longer Life. Bands are much faster.
so i'll use flat bands, and to make them stronger i'll use more of them bot side
You should read MaddyMax' s post HERE. I don' t think if you put multiple bands will make them stronger, it depends on what ammo you are using. I' m not sure about what i say... so, forgive me if i am wrong.
ok thanks all for answer but now i m little confused. shuldn't be the gold band the fastest one and strongest one? (why someone told to use silver or black faster?) @tokStick, i used Joerg calc and it wrote that can be used more band per side, so on a 12mm sphere steel its quite good 2 per side. However, usually and matematically more bands for more bullet weight.
Hi, with more practice in shooting you will feel the difference between a "strong" and a "fast" slingshot.
A very strong ss can sometimes have less ammospeed as a soft bandset with the same light ammo. With heavy ammo you need a strong band or tubeset.(thats right) The thinner the layers of a bandset the faster it is. Bands are faster than tubes the material is thinner.
For a beginner (like me) TB gold is the choice. To make speedrecords you need multilayers of blue or black but after 50-150 shots you need a new bandset. Zwillie
