Talking The terrible son of the Blunderbuss.

Hi Joerg, Hi everyone.

After watching with a friend the video of the blunderbuss, we wanted to make ours.
The thing we came out with is a plywood monster bigger and stronger than his father.
It was a real challenge for us because we had absolutely no experience in wood working. It takes us may be about 30 or 40 hours to make. We had not a lot of tools. It was shooting after 30 hours of work.

Plans and explanations for construction

Some pics of the fabrication:

The trigger mechanism:

The piston with nasty nails in it:

In the barrel:

The badass part:

The face:

1:30 AM, we're totally knackered but the thing SHOOTS!

Now the paint work (no more experience than in wood working)

The thing is really powerfull: 4 thera tubes black each side. We need to be two to load it. The little tubes at the end of the barrel are slowing donw the piston before it reaches the end of the breach to prevent eventual brokes. The cannon is 8cm by 8cm and 1 meter long. We can really shoot everything we want.

The front plate has been painted too but I have no pic of it yet and the blunderbuss is at my friend's house. Wait the end of the week!
We made a video yesterday, but my gopro camera screwed up and we lost 3/4 of the videos. We will make a new video in August. I'll update this post.

I hope you will enjoy it!

Hello, welcome to the forum, and bada** work!

How does the spike plate projectile stay stabilized in flight? Any impact photos to share? I imagine it would make Gallagher proud on any melon impacts.

Great work!! This thing is pure devastation! Paint job is awesome too, and your building process steps were really well done!
I would definitely have say that this is one mean son-of-a-gun!

Thanks you all for your comments!

@Studer: The spikes are not very stable and you need to shoot very close to the target (20 cm) But these 5 nails are devastating.

This pic survives to the gopro's bug:

You can see the fives holes, and they are really deep in the water
melon.
