Default My dream arrow launcher

My IWA visit, specifically the cool arrow launcher prototypes by FXairguns from Sweden, made me thinking.

A semi auto arrow launcher... broadhead ready... 150 to 600 fps arrow speed, adjustable...

Here is my sketch (I am neither an engineer nor an artist, so please excuse the amateurishness):

I want to suggest such a model to the FXairguns guys from Sweden.

I may do a rubber powered version - but there is no way I can go up to 600 fps.

I didn't like those air-powered bow launchers, but to see a rubber powered one would be cool.

Cool, I'm starting my arrow gun project tomorrow. It's only going to be single shot though. I think a rotary magazine like yours could definitely be incorporated into the FX design just like a revolver. Looking forward to the rubber powered, arrow shooting chest cannon Very Happy

Hi guys, this arrow lancher thing has put my slingbow and tactical crossbow projects on the back burner. I wanted to put together something crude/cheap and get a feel for how it would shoot before I commited to ordering all the parts for a real (quality) arrow gun. Here is a picture of the ugly arrow shooter I made today from mostly old rusty fittings from the scrap pile. I tested it with an unfletched carbon arrow shaft that had the right interior diameter for the 1/4 inch brake line barrel. It looked like such a peice of crap that I popped off the first shot in the house (that was a mistake and I quickly moved to the garage). Turns out this concept works really well. At only 60psi in the pop bottle it will shoot 25ft (limit of my "range") with near perfect accuracy. Unexpectedly you get about 6 good and 4 sad shots per charge. I might even get rid of all the extra fittings and make this ugly thing into some kind of arrow gun plinker?
